Avios

The Avios scheme

Built on the foundations of the UK’s longest running and most rewarding scheme of its kind, Avios was created in 2011 as a rebrand of the immensely successful Airmiles scheme. And it continues to reward members for everyday spending with travel and leisure.

A pioneering scheme, Airmiles was synonymous with offering value – for members and collection partners. And Avios continues this promise.

In fact, it's going further, with more ways for members to collect Avios – including on flights with IAG airlines. And increased flexibility on redemption – with no credit card fees to pay when booking and the addition of one-way and open jaw flights.

Avios is all about choice – with flights with leading airlines like British Airways and Iberia to hundreds of worldwide destinations. Members flew to over 505 different airports in 2008 under the old schemes.

Avios also takes members on Eurostar journeys, holidays and cruises with popular names like Tui Travel, and on day trips to attractions from Alton Towers to the London Eye. And Avios can be used for worldwide hotels and travel extras – from insurance to car hire.

The Avios currency

Avios is a shared reward currency – providing rewards to members of the Avios scheme, British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus.

Each scheme has its own benefits, such as tier points, but members can move their Avios around to suit them as their lifestyle choices change.

Avios partners

Avios is a retail coalition scheme, with Avios collected on everyday spending with around 215 companies in the UK4. But it also allows members to collect on flights with leading airlines.

Through the scheme, partners offer their customers increased value and recognition – making rewards a valuable asset in partners' wider customer loyalty and retention strategies.

Today, Avios partners include Lloyds TSB, Shell and Tesco. And over 200 popular online retailers when accessed via www.avios.com - including johnlewis.com, Debenhams.com, Apple store, eBay.co.uk, Comet, Currys, Boden, hmv.com and Waterstone's5.
