In these tough times everyone needs to make their money work harder ... you can easily collect Airmiles on your Christmas present shopping via the 200 retailers on our online eStore.Fred Prego, Head of Brands and Propositions - The Mileage Company

And with total Christmas spend averaging over £450, each shopper could collect 365 Airmiles*. That's enough for a free day out.

And not everyone's tightening their festive purse strings, with over half of Brits happy to treat their loved ones as they did in 2008**. In fact Brits are planning to spend £10.5 billion*** on gifts alone this year.

On average, each shopper spends £300 on gifts, nearly £120 on food and drinks and just over £50 on big ticket items for the home, like furniture or electricals.
